"As good as anything you hear on the radio"

Our national radio-trained and award-winning producers handle each episode’s planning, logistics, scripting, and recording.

We record in professional studios and/or remotely using our online recording systems. We also offer on-location recording where required.

Next, we make your podcast as good as anything on the radio with broadcast-quality precision editing, mixing, mastering (think photoshop for audio), music/sound design and unique audio branding.

Our producers also create professional audio trailers and preview audio files to help promote your podcasts.

We also create “audio moments”, short isolated clips from each episode that can be used on social media and within interactive press releases.

An additional and increasingly popular service is the creation of “best of” shows. These offer the perfect way to repurpose and re-promote your best content many times over.

More information, featured projects, and FAQ's

We've been creating branded podcasts every week since 2006. Here's what we have learnt from our clients...

FAQs

What does broadcast-quality podcast production cost?

As the saying goes, “how long is a piece of string?”.

We’re not trying to avoid telling you the costs. The reason we don’t have a rate card for podcast production is there are too many many variables!

This is why our advice is always to get in touch and discuss your project so we can provide a quote or propose a podcasting solution based on your objectives and budget.

However, as a very rough guide, a short, uncomplicated podcast requiring very little editing could cost as little as £200 per episode. On the other hand, there are much more complex productions that can cost £5000 or more per episode!

Average cost per episode?

Our clients’ average “cost per episode” ranges somewhere between £1000 and £3000, excluding VAT.

Volume discounts?

We are regularly asked if discounts are available for frequent projects (daily or several times weekly). The answer is yes, especially if the contract lasts 12 months or more. Once again, please get in touch to discuss your project directly with our team is best.

How do you evaluate ROI on the costs of podcast production?

Each of our clients calculates ROI on their podcast production expenses in different ways. However, the CPL rate (cost per listen) is a reasonably good metric.

For example, if you spend £12,000 and achieve 3000 listens, your CPL is £4.00. If you reach 30,000 listens, this reduces to just 4p per listen!

Of course, you can then begin delving deeper into the data and create detailed CPL calculations for unique listeners and more.

Average CPL...

On average, our clients have a CPL of around £3.00 and consider this to be excellent value for money, considering they have reached an audience that is directly interested in their podcast (podcast listeners always make a conscious choice to listen) and, on average, over 70% of listeners spend 30 minutes or more listening. This level of engagement is almost impossible to achieve with any other medium.

Beyond the simplicity of CPL, you also need to consider many other factors. For instance, as an extreme example, if you promote space travel and the cost of taking one of your trips was £500,000, you would only need to achieve one booking from your podcast to see a huge ROI.

Your ROI may not be so direct. Perhaps you are seeking to engage your target audience for other reasons rather than just looking to sell a product or service directly.

There are so many less obvious benefits that contribute to ROI. You can learn more by clicking the “Why Podcast” button below (the link opens in a new tab or window).

I don't understand terms like "mastering", "audio branding", and "show notes".

You’re not alone, and we are happy to explain all of these to you personally.

Alternatively, you can learn more by clicking the “Podcasting glossary & guide” button below (the link opens in a new tab or window).

Do I need broadcast-quality podcast production? Can't we just buy some equipment and do this in-house?

This is always an option, and some of our clients do this! That’s why we offer an “everything you need service”.

In this scenario, clients work with us on certain parts of the production process (for example, the editing process or building the podcast branding). We also offer training and advice too.

Something to keep in mind...

All high-achieving individuals, such as Olympic athletes, footballers, musicians, singers, actors and broadcasters, have one thing in common. They all rely on professional coaches, producers and directors. They are constantly learning and receiving feedback to improve and maintain their performance. Therefore, it makes sense that one of the biggest problems with in-house podcast production is that while “Steve from marketing” or even the company CEO may sound “better than you thought they would”, your listeners (your future customers and clients) don’t know these people and may not share the same opinion.

Your podcasts are an extension of your brand and reputation...

Remember, your podcasts are an extension of your brand and reputation, so they ought to be professional, and it’s a smart move to have ongoing professional advice.
